CURRENT CONDITIONS
The City of Empire provides a webcam of current Lake Michigan conditions. As predominant weather systems arrive from the west, this is a useful tool to gauge active weather approaching.
NATIONAL PARK FEES
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore has multiple entrance points and is a U.S. Fee Area.
CAMPING
Campsites can be reserved up to six months in advance. Summer dates book quickly. Don’t be left high and dry!
HIKE WITH A LOCAL
Utilize the local knowledge and simplistic interpretations of a SB2r guide. Local guides increase your awareness, provide clarifications in park/area recreation activities, and connect you to the spirit of the dunes.
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore encompasses 71, 000 acres, 26 inland lakes, 65 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, 908 terrestrial plant species, and 246 birds species, we are here to make sense of it all.
ANISHINAABE LANDS
The Anishinaabe, the original keepers of these lands, leave an indelible chronicle. SB2r strives to present accurate Anishinaabe oral traditions and contemporary, meaningful interpretations. History has been inaccurately presented for much too long.
WATER & SURF
